We are now well into January and the conference and year start meetings are taking place right across the globe.
It’s a busy time for lots of us, and I’ve just returned from a great three days in Prague helping a lovely client to ensure their messages not only got across but will really resonate in the audience mind.
However, I keep hearing about ‘average’ and ‘boring’ presentations from leaders who are expected to galvanise their team at this vital start to the year.
They invest a huge amount of their budget on the event, arranging travel, accommodation, food, entertainment, lighting and sound, only to put this investment at risk by leaving the content and delivery to the last minute.
This is not a blame game
There are lots of reasons why ‘last minute’ prevails.
Busy schedules, lack of preparation time, uncertainty about the overall conference message can all contribute to an ‘average’ outcome.
But with current business pressure and an increasingly competitive world shouldn’t we start to think differently about how we connect and communicate effectively?
